European Cospeles Company
Compañía Europea de Cospeles S.A., better known in the blanks market as CECO, S.A., was founded in 1999 as a joint venture between the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre–Real Casa de la Moneda Española (FNMT-RCM) and the German company Deutsche Nickel, with the main objective of manufacturing coin blanks during the introduction of the Euro in Spain in 2002.
Since then, CECO, S.A. has adapted its production for export, and has continued manufacturing and supplying coin blanks for monetary use to more than 60 countries worldwide. This has enabled CECO, S.A. to gain extensive experience in the various manufacturing processes and in the quality control of its products.
Currently, CECO, S.A. is 50% owned by FNMT-RCM and the remaining 50% is owned by SAXONIA EuroCoin GmbH. Its public roots make it a much more stable company than any private factory.
CECO, S.A. has established an integrated management system across all its processes, which is governed in accordance with the requirements set out in the following standards: Quality ISO 9001:2008; Environmental Management ISO 14001:2004; and Occupational Health and Safety Management OHSAS 18001:2007. In addition, CECO, S.A. was one of the first companies to be granted the AAI (Integrated Environmental Authorization) within the Community of Madrid, and it also participates voluntarily and actively in several European environmental projects.
Likewise, CECO, S.A. holds the ISO 27001:2022 Information Security Management System certification.
